Going Green

At Custom Panel Systems we strive to provide our customers with sustainable solutions to meet industry demands. In doing so we select vendors with like-minded goals to fit your needs. Our recycled metal panels are manufactured from sheet steel comprised of 72% recycled steel content (by weight). The total post-consumer recycled content is greater than 51% and the pre-consumer/post-industrial recycled content is greater than 10%.

Our recycled metal panels are painted with water based paints which contain far fewer organic solvents which release VOC’s into the atmosphere during application and drying. All of this leads to an environmentally conscious product that will last for years to come and allow for reuse when its intended application is no longer needed. Custom Panel Systems 20-gauge steel panels contribute toward satisfying Credit MR 4.1 and Credit MR 4.2 under LEED V3

• MR Credits 4.1 and 4.2 Recycled Content
• MR Credit 4.1 - 1 point potential
  Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus 1/2 of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% (based on cost) of the total value of the materials in the project.
• The recycled content value of a material assembly shall be determined by weight. The recycled fraction of the assembly is then multiplied by the cost of the assembly to determine the recycled content value.
• MR Credit 4.2 - 1 point potential
  Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus 1/2 of the pre-consumer content constitutes an additional 10% beyond MR Credit 4.1 [total of 20% (based on cost) of the total value of the materials in the project.
